Travel Tips for Staying In Cancun/Mayan Riviera ~ All Points Travel

Planning a wedding can be a stressful event.  One of the things that keeps couples plugging along is the thought that they will soon be relaxing somewhere on their honeymoon.

Mexico, particularly Cancun and the Mayan Riviera are one of the most popular destinations for honeymooners.  The crystal clear blue water of the Caribbean, the amazing sites to see, the incredible places to “party” and the miles and miles of endless beach draw couples from all over to celebrate their new marriage.

All Inclusive resorts are a fantastic way to go.  For the most part all of your food and drinks (alcoholic & non alcoholic) are included.  Most of your non motorized water sports are part of the deal as well.  There are many activities that are available right there at the resort to make sure you are well taken care of and pampered.

The El Dorado Royale is one of the sponsors of The Bridal Extravaganza and has been named one of the top 100 resorts in the world.  It was also recently named one of the top 10 relaxation resorts in Mexico.  All Points Travel provides  this wonderful honeymoon to one lucky couple at every Bridal Extravaganza show.

We sent some questions to Corina at All Points Travel , who can help you plan the perfect honeymoon or vacation for that matter, because we are going to be staying at The El Dorado very soon and quite frankly we can’t wait.  We have heard so many amazing things about this resort that we knew we needed to check it out for ourselves.  Corina at All Points Travel  has been amazing to work with.  Not only at getting us the best price but with ideas of fun things to do while we are there & making sure all the details are covered.  I would recommend her to everyone.

We thought we would share these FAQ that travel agents get all the time regarding staying at an all inclusive resort in Mexico.  While we asked these questions particular to our trip, Corina indicated that the responses are good for anyone traveling to an all inclusive in Mexico.

1. How much cash should we bring? When staying at an all-inclusive resort your meals, snacks, drinks (including alcohol), basic tipping (tipping is generally accepted, but not expected, so this is at your discretion based on how you would normally tip services such as bellmen, maids, bartenders, servers, etc), and non-motorized water and land sports offered at the resort are included. The resort will typically have a wide range of daily and evening entertainment and activities to choose from at no cost to you. So, additional cash is really at your discretion for incidental items such as tipping, cab rides (if you choose to go into the local nearby town), motorized water sports (often available off the beach from independent vendors … plan $25-50pp per activity), excursions/tours out of the resort (these can be purchased from the tour desk located in any hotel lobby. Plan $50-150pp per day depending on the activity), spa or salon treatments (massage, pedicure, etc), miscellaneous shopping.
